New Agriculture secretary announced after shock termination
3+ day, 20+ hour ago (262+ words) A top Treasury official has been appointed to lead the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, months after Adam Fennessy's surprise termination. Victoria Anderson will begin a five-year term as secretary on December 8. Ms Anderson's most recent public service role was deputy secretary of the small business, corporate and law group at the Department of the Treasury. It's a return to Agriculture for Ms Anderson, who started at the department as a graduate in the early 2000s. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese confirmed the appointment with a statement on Thursday morning. "Ms Anderson brings a depth of expertise in public policy to the role, particularly in the agriculture domain where she commenced as a graduate," he said.
